Mark Sanders

Mark is a drummer/percussionist who has had a career taking in many musical styles and genres, this history informs his now mainly free improvisation and free jazz based work, but he also works in theatre, contemporary classical and contemporary art situations. He has played with many renowned improvising musicians, including Roscoe Mitchell, Wadada Leo Smith, Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Nicole Mitchell, Paul Dunmall and Shabaka Hutchins. Playing concerts and festivals around the world, including South Africa, Mozambique, Japan, Australia, Russia, USA, Canada and Morocco. He is a Principal Lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, and Visiting Lecturer at The Royal Academy of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire. Mark appears on over 170 CD and Vinyl releases.
